Dr. von Lockette’s research is rooted in the structure property relationships of elastomers and elastomer composites. He has advised several undergraduate research groups in this area who have presented their works at the ACS Rubber Division meetings, at NCUR and ASME conferences in Utah, California, and Maryland,, and at STEM conferences at Rowan. In addition to research, Dr. von Lockette has engaged in numerous outreach and enrichments programs including Rowan’s Summer Institute in Materials Science (serving high school students and teachers), the Harley Flack Male Mentoring Program at Rowan (which he co-chaired in 2003-2004), and C.H.A.M.P’s Saturday Academy at Rowan’s Camden Campus for which he developed and administers a “What is Engineering?” program for 6th - 8th graders on the weekends.
